We have seen the average size of watches increase over the past decade and today large watches are extremely popular. That also goes for women’s watches, too. More and more people prefer the larger watches. With so many styles of watches on the market today, I will prefer the larger watches, 43mm or so. I think once you wear a larger watch it's hard to go back to a small one. 

Some people consider 40mm to be big, while others view that as a smaller sized case. We all have different definitions of “big” watches. However, the best way to see a watch too big or too small for you depends on your particular wrist. Also, it comes down to wearers’ personal taste. Some people will say that smaller watches are too feminine, while others think that watches with large cases are so bulky. I think that choosing a smaller or a bigger watch really comes down to your personal taste.

People started commenting on large watch sizes when timepieces measuring 44mm wide from companies such as Panerai and others started to become popular in the early 2000s and, to a degree, the late 1990s. When I first see the replica Panerai watches,  I immediately fell in love with them. They are such a great presence on my wrist with their large size and unique styles.

Large timepieces are trendy right now. Large timepieces are typically more comfortable and more practical. With the big face, you can easily see the time with a quick glance. What’s more, the larger cases and dials allow for more creative designs, which will be more interesting. And the larger watch case and dial design will become more complex, it can be easy for wearers to show off the artistic value of their watches.
